Editorial Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Technical Surveyor publishes practical tools and educational material for land survey work, with a particular focus on Andhra Pradesh. This policy explains who is responsible for the content, what our status labels mean, and how readers can request a correction.

Editorial responsibility

The site and its guides are written and maintained by Mehaboob, a GIS and revenue land survey professional. The same name is used on article bylines and structured metadata so visitors can identify the author responsible for the material. Technical Surveyor and SIFA Geolabs are independent of APPSC and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

What we publish

  • Field guides: explanations of surveying concepts, cadastral workflows, records, instruments, and calculations.
  • Law and procedure summaries: practical introductions to Acts, Board Standing Orders, government orders, and office procedures. These are not certified legal texts.
  • Exam resources: independently maintained links to previous-paper study copies. They are not an official APPSC archive.
  • Tool documentation: instructions, limitations, privacy notes, and checks for browser-based calculators and document generators.

Sources and verification

For legal or procedural subjects, official material takes priority: the applicable Act or rules, gazette publications, government orders, the Survey Manual, Board Standing Orders, current APPSC notifications, and instructions from the competent department. Field experience and worked examples help explain those sources but do not replace them.

Before a substantive update, we check the purpose of the page, its terminology, calculations, links, and statements that may affect official work. Where a primary source is unavailable or a historical file cannot be identified confidently, we say so or remove the claim instead of guessing.

Dates and status labels

  • Published is the date the current site record was published or restored. For migrated material, it may not be the date the subject was first written.
  • Last reviewed is used only when the article body or its factual guidance has received a substantive editorial check.
  • Metadata updated means titles, categories, descriptions, or other presentation data were cleaned up; it does not claim that every procedure was re-certified on that date.
  • Updated on a tool or page is generated from the maintained source file and indicates a site change, not government approval.

Exam-paper and external-file policy

We list only files that can be opened and identified with reasonable confidence. Empty rows, broken files, and ambiguous duplicates are removed. Each collection states when links were last checked and directs candidates to the current official notification for eligibility, codes, syllabus, language, and pass rules.

Corrections

Every guide includes a report option. A useful correction identifies the page, the disputed statement, the current source or field instruction, and the change requested. We prioritise errors that could affect a boundary, record, statutory notice, calculation, or examination decision.

Send corrections through the contact page or email admin@technicalsurveyor.in.

Advertising and editorial independence

Advertising or a partnership does not buy a favourable technical conclusion, change a calculation, or determine what a guide says. Sponsored material must be labelled and kept separate from official-source summaries and correction decisions. Core tools remain available without requiring an account.

Important limitation

Procedures, forms, jurisdictions, and government instructions change. Verify important work against current official sources and the competent Tahsildar or Assistant Director (Survey) office. Generated notices, calculations, and educational summaries are drafting and learning aids, not official approval.

Corrections & questions

These guides are maintained for practising AP surveyors. If a step is outdated or wrong, tell us — we prioritise field corrections.
