A useful comparison method
Do not read each paper once and stop. Build a comparison sheet with one row per question and columns for the session, paper part, subject, type of answer, and source to verify. This reveals recurring areas without assuming that an old pattern is the current syllabus.
- Procedure: notices, records, subdivisions, boundary work, and office sequence.
- Field method: chain, compass, levelling, traversing, setting out, and instrument checks.
- Computation: scale, area, offsets, coordinates, and unit conversion.
- Authority: Act, BSO, government order, survey manual, or current departmental instruction.
